Arpita Mathur Founder and Chief Mentor
Dr. Arpita Mathur is the Founder and Chief Academic Mentor of Academic Spurt, an initiative dedicated to empowering students to become confident, independent learners. An experienced educator with over 12 years in higher education, Arpita has worked with the International Baccalaureate and taught at the university level, bringing both academic depth and practical insight to her mentoring approach.
Holding a Doctorate in International Relations, Arpita combines her academic expertise with professional training in youth development and mentoring. She has completed the Educator as Coach Accreditation (Academy of Mastery, 2023), Coaching and Mentoring for Youth (Nanyang Polytechnic, 2024), and Working with Youth (Breakthrough Academy, 2025) courses.
Arpita believes in personalized mentoring tailored to each student’s unique needs, focusing on holistic growth through evidence-based strategies. Through her Learning to Learn program, she helps students from middle to high school (IB/IGCSE) identify their strengths, overcome challenges, and develop the skills and habits needed to thrive academically. Her mentoring focuses not on what to study, but how to study — guiding students to plan effectively, manage time, stay focused, and build resilience.
At Academic Spurt, Arpita’s mission is to nurture self-aware, motivated learners who are equipped with the tools to succeed — in school, university, and beyond.
